Junior Payroll & Benefits

The Human Resources area is concerned with the entire journey of employees (and potential employees) from the first contact with Xpand IT.

It ensures that there is a stringent recruitment process and a welcoming onboarding so that everyone is well received and integrated. It is responsible for properly managing all benefits, partnerships and protocols and to energise the Xpanders community, always with the aim of promoting Xpand IT human culture, based on strong values.

The main objective is to create lasting and trusting relationships that guarantee each Xpander’s personal and professional development.


As Junior Payroll & Benefits you will be in straight contact with the company’s salary processing and procedures on entering the employee data and information in the internal apps.

You will participate in the timesheets validation process and accompany work-flows related to major internal procedures. You will also be in touch for the employee inclusions and exclusions on Health Insurance and Work Medicine tasks. You will monitor handling the contractual issues of employees and reporting queries in line with the internal policies and legislation. You should be aware of procedures improvements to achieve maximum efficiency in administrative processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Follow guidelines to examine timesheets to ensure their validity as well as the submissions and approvals on time;
  • Assistance on entering data onto payroll software ensuring info consistency with all necessary changes over the employee work-life company;
  • Monitor procedures to prepare and collect fixed and variable remunerations and deductions for the monthly payroll process;
  • Accompany monthly payroll processing and obligatory reports to legal entities (AT, Social Security, Compensation Funds, Work Insurance);
  • Monitor procedures on contract management according to admissions, resignations and end-of-contract reckonings;
  • Assessing on IEFP and Social Security hiring programs benefits;
  • Acquainting queries about payroll-related issues and respective solutions based on priority, volume and type;
  • Monitor procedures on employee’s inclusions and exclusions on Health Insurance and Work Medicine
  • Accompany the setup of new approaches and guidelines to increase the internal administrative procedures efficiency;
  • Support employees by managing tickets on Service Desk platform and escalating issues with major complexity;
  • Higher education in HR Management/Accounting/Economics/Finance;
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous professional experience in similar activities;
  • Basic knowledge of Payroll processes and labor/tax/contributory legislation;
  • Kind of analytic sense and high attention to detail;
  • Excelent work ethics;
  • Previous contact with collaborative platforms and ERPs;
  • Basic concepts in analysis and improvement of administrative processes and whose implementation make the organization more agile;
  • Oral and written communication skills in an informal environment;
  • Ability to interpersonal relationships including the ability to deal with challenging situations;
  • Capacity of time management and personal organization to work in a multi-tasking environment of sudden priorities;
  • Discretion, rigidity and confidentiality;
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools;
  • English proficiency.
  • Experience in payroll and benefits management in the IT sector would be considered a plus.
